Privacy policy

This policy explains how Severas L.L.C (“Severas”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you use severas.net, apply for a job, send us your CV or contact us. We process personal data in line with the UAE Personal Data Protection Law (Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021) and other laws that apply to our work.

Who we are

Severas L.L.C is a recruitment and manpower agency based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We are responsible (the “controller”) for the personal data described in this policy.

What we collect

When you apply for a job or send us your CV: your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, nationality, current country, the role you want, your CV and anything you include in it (such as your work history, education, certificates and references), and any note you send us.

When you contact us as an employer: your name, company, email address, phone number and the details of your hiring needs.

When you sign up for job alerts or our newsletter: your email address and preferred language.

When you browse the website: our hosting provider automatically records technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of the request.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. To see which pages are visited, we use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not identify you. It records the page you visit, the website that sent you, your country, and your device type, browser and operating system. Visits are counted with a temporary code that is deleted after 24 hours, so you cannot be followed across days or across other websites. If you save jobs on our jobs page, that list is kept only in your own browser (local storage) and is never sent to us.

Please only send us information that is needed for your application. Do not include sensitive data such as health information, religious beliefs or biometric data unless a specific role requires it and we ask for it.

How we use your data

We use your personal data to:

• assess your application and match your profile with current and future roles;
• contact you about your application, interviews and job offers;
• share your profile with prospective employers for specific roles, with your consent;
• reply to enquiries from employers and provide our recruitment and workforce services;
• send you job alerts or our newsletter, if you asked for them;
• keep the website secure and prevent spam and misuse;
• meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We process your data on the basis of your consent (which you give when you submit an application or sign up), to take steps you ask for before entering into an agreement with us or an employer, to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate business purposes where these do not override your rights.

Who we share it with

• Prospective employers (our clients), when we put you forward for a role. We only share your profile with an employer for a role you have applied for or agreed to be considered for.
• Service providers who help us run our business, under contracts that require them to protect your data and use it only on our instructions: our website host (Vercel), our email delivery provider (Resend), and our email and document storage providers.
• Authorities, such as government, immigration or labour authorities, when this is required by law or needed for a visa or work permit you have asked us to help with.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers

We recruit across the GCC and North Africa, so your data may be shared with employers in other countries, and some of our service providers store data outside the UAE. When we transfer personal data outside the UAE, we do so in line with UAE law, for example with your consent or where the receiving country or the provider offers an adequate level of protection.

How long we keep it

• CVs and applications: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, so we can consider you for future roles. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
• Employer enquiries: for as long as needed to respond and provide our services, and for up to 24 months afterwards unless we have an ongoing relationship.
• Job alerts and newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
• Technical logs: for a short period, as set by our hosting provider, for security purposes.

We may keep some information for longer when the law requires it.

Your rights

Subject to the law, you have the right to:

• ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
• ask us to delete your data;
• ask us to restrict or stop processing it, or object to its processing;
• ask us to transfer your data to another organisation;
• withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, email info@severas.net. We may need to confirm your identity first. We will respond within the time required by law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the UAE Data Office.

How we protect your data

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) on our website, access limited to staff who need it, and service providers who meet recognised security standards. No system is completely secure, so please contact us straight away if you think your data has been put at risk.

Children

Our services are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
